Homemade Deodorant Stick – The Knotty Housewife

Hi all!
I am so excited to share this recipe with you. If you are on the journey to a healthy clean lifestyle, ridding your home of toxic, chemical laden beauty products is a must! I have been making my own deodorant for about a year now with great success. I love this homemade deodorant stick recipe because it replicates the ease of the store-bought stuff!

2 Tbsp Bee’s Wax
2 Tbsp Coco Butter
5 Tbsp Coconut Oil
1/4 Cup Arrowroot Powder
1/4 Cup aluminum free Baking Soda
20 Drops Melaleuca Essential Oil*
15 Drops Lavender Essential Oil*
2 Empty deodorant bar containers, you can also buy them on amazon!

*It is super important to always use high quality and pure essential oils. Lesser quality oils can be dangerous at most,  and less effective at least. If you are interested in where I buy all of my essential oils, send me a quick message. I love these oils, and this company!

Using a double boiler or my method of a pyrex measuring cup in a pot of water, melt bees wax, coco butter, and coconut oil stirring frequently. Add arrowroot powder and baking soda and stir until smooth. Allow to cool a bit and add essential oils. Pour directly into empty deodorant stick containers (if you are reusing old ones be sure to wash well and push the plastic part inside all the way down. Again, if you are interested in where I get my essential oil, all you have to do is ask!
